Clever Sydney bard Josh Pyke announces his third album and a “Fans First” tour to play the songs.
The acclaimed indie rock singer-songwriter returns with his third album Only Sparrows as a follow-up to his top ten 2008 album Chimney’s Afire, ARIA awards and Gold sales.
It has been a long wait, and Josh returns in a rush by releasing a new single, then doing a string of intimate “fans first” shows playing new material, then a little break before the album drops.
Only Sparrows was recorded with Wayne Connolly at Albert Studios in Sydney and will come out on the ever-dependable Ivy League Records.
All this is, in order: new single ‘No One Wants A Lover’ launches on June 20, the club tour runs from 23 June to July 1 in Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne and Adelaide, then Only Sparrows will come out on August 19.
Now, the dates below will surely sell out, so if you want to go and are not a member of Pyke’s fan club just yet, head to his dot com and sign up.
Fan club members will get a shot at buying tickets tomorrow, Thursday 26 May. The general public has to wait another week, Thursday 2 June, and we can’t guarantee there will be anything left by then.
