Brian Wilson has told BBC Radio that he’s considering joining the Beach Boys live for their fiftieth anniversary.
NME reports that Wilson had previously told the Evening Standard that he was planning to retire from live performance last year.
He’s now told BBC6 Music that he’s considering a reunion with the surviving members of the Beach Boys for their 50-year anniversary.
When asked whether he’d perform with the Beach Boys again, Wilson said, "I’m considering it. I don't know yet but I'm considering it. Nothing's really holding me back. I just don't know if I want to be around those guys you know. They’re zany guys. They’re crazy."
In June last year Mike Love told the Las Vegas Sun that there were no live reunion plans with Wilson, but had discussed the possibility of writing and recording again.
The next month Al Jardine said "we’re definitely doing at least one show" in 2011 for their 50th anniversary.
If the ‘60s-era Beach Boys reunite to play live, it would be the first time Wilson has joined them on stage in almost 20 years.
