Blues Brother and actor Dan Aykroyd has lost 21,000 bottles of vodka in a robbery from his California warehouse.
Aykroyd founded his Crystal Head Vodka company in 2008 John Alexander. It has turned over more than $50 million in sales since starting the brand.
Crystal Head Vodka is sold in a skull-shaped bottle. According to their website, “Aykroyd and Alexander wanted the opportunity to get closer to the myth of the 13 crystal heads. After more than two years in development, their moment finally arrived. When their glass depiction of a head was complete, Milan-based manufacturer Bruni Glass declared it to be a bottle of unsurpassed complexity and quality. Now, what to put in it? Vodka became the drink of choice. But with it, a commitment to do something enlightened and different”.
"My partners and I are sorry to lose this much vodka to theft and do not condone criminal activity in any fashion, but we are happy that some consumers will be afforded the opportunity of tasting it at significantly lower than retail price," Aykroyd said in a statement.
