Sunny Californian singer-songwriter Lissie tells Undercover about the one night in Paris with Megan Washington that lead to a tour.
Lissie is in the middle of a national tour with our very own Washington, a union sparked during a little show in Paris.
She came into the Undercover studios and told the story of their immediate bonding in the City of Lights.
Initially it was Lissie’s booking agent who thought they’d get along, with Washington opening their “little gig” in Paris.
“Immediately [she was] so easy to talk to, so cool,” Lissie says, “Interesting, quirky, but also laid back. We just chatted and got on well.”
They went on to do a photoshoot together in LA to prepare for the Australian jaunt.
“We talked and talked and talked and realised right away we’d have a nice time touring together,” Lissie smiles.
She sheepishly agrees that it was another victory for wine and cigarettes.
“It’s funny,” she says, “Since this tour started, these three shows, our main hangout time is when we both want to smoke cigarettes. We’ll both go away and smoke.”
She chuckles that it’s not an endorsement of cigarettes, “It’s just true.”
Lissie goes on to discuss her next album (to be recorded with her Band Of Horses housemate), Stevie Nicks comparisons, working with Kings Of Leon producer Jacquire King, and plenty more.
