Cult post-punks Fugazi are currently digitally archiving 15 years of gigs to put up online.
DIY hero Ian MacKaye, figurehead of Fugazi and founder of Dischord Records, explained the exhaustive process to Approaching Oblivion.
They are currently converting thousands of DAT and cassette tapes to digital so they can post decades of staunchly independent live shows up online for their fans.
MacKaye said, "We're hoping it will be up in the near future. The idea at the moment is to start it with 100 shows. Then put 20 more on every month or something. We’re still building the site, it's an interesting and complicated process".
No doubt it’ll be complicated but this is typical of a band who spent a decade and a half fighting the music industry in favour of the fans.
