The phenomonally successful Coca - Cola campaign that encouraged punters to share a Coke with (insert any old name here) will expand to music file sharing.....with a Coke.
The new campaign " Share A Coke And A Song" will see bottles and cans of Coke, Diet Coke, and Coke Zero feature a year from 1938 to 2012(the significance of 1938 is that it was the year Coke was introduced locally). Each pack will carry a QR code or a URL, linking to 50 popular songs from that year.
This is all completely above board of course.....Coke and music streaming service Spotify will partner to allow punters to share the music of their memorable moments via Facebook. What memorable moments are they talking about? Hopefully, they go like this .......
You know that time when the the generation Y boy bought a Coke listed with 50 songs from 1978 and listened to Johnny Thunders " You Can't Put Your Arms Around a Memory " ( just because it was listed..) and loved it sooooo much that he facebooked it to his other Gen Y pals and as a result 80's revival hipster dude bands of Gen Y'ers playing crap ceased to exist ...blah blah blah.. Yes, I guess this is not even dream, but a fantasy , as if Coke and Spotify would use a Johnny Thunders song on their gimmick cans.
