Reports emerge that Chris Martin, Muse and Damon Albarn are being recruited to create an anthem for the London 2012 Olympics.
A source told UK tabloid The Daily Mirror that “Chris is at the top of the list to front the official record”.
Apparently they want not just Martin, but the rest of Coldplay, epic rockers Muse and Blur and Gorillaz genius Damon Albarn.
“We're pulling out all the stops to get Chris,” the source continued, “ideally with the rest of Coldplay involved too.”
Coldplay have apparently been asked to perform at the Opening Ceremony, as has Joss Stone
While Albarn was previously tipped as “a leading contender” to be the Artistic Director of the London Olympics, it has been confirmed that director Danny Boyle will take care of the visuals.
