Jazz icon Herbie Hancock is set tour around Australia with his band for extended shows.
The massively-influential jazz legend will play in Perth, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide, and twice at the Sydney Opera House at the end of April and into May.
He promises extra-long shows – over two hours – showcasing classics from his decades of solo, collaborative and band adventures, as well as new tracks all the way up to his 2008 Album Of The Year Grammy-winner River: The Joni Letters and last year’s Imagine Project.
It’s a rare chance to see an revolutionary musician, who has won an Oscar, armfuls of Grammys, scores of other awards and has changed the face of modern music.
He’ll be joined by his band: bassist James Genus, drummer Trevor Lawrence Jr., and signer Kristina Train.
