Mind-boggling math rock supergroup Battles have unveiled their album art and a new track.
The band were considered all but defunct after the departure of Tyondai Braxton and there was a worry that they’d never follow up their critically-worshipped 2007 debut Mirrored.
This is all set to rest, as the band have now revealed the art for their second album Gloss Drop, and the first single ‘Ice Cream’ featuring Chilean singer Matias Aguayo.
‘Ice Cream’ is streaming on their website and is more accessible than their occasionally punishing percussive earlier work.
The twelve-track album, featuring Gary Numan, Yamantaka Eye and Kazu Makino, will be released on Warp records on June 6.
