UK dance act Faithless announce that they’d made their “collective point by now” and are moving on.
Frontman Maxi Jazz posted a screed on the Faithless website, thanking the fans and announcing that the band is finished.
He wrote: “After 15 years(!) and six albums(!!) I think we've probably made our collective point by now and that it's time to close the book and return to the library...”
Their recent world tour, and appearances on Asutralia’s Good Vibrations festival, was the last chance to catch them live.
The statement continued, “Like when writing a song, you always just 'know' when it's finished... this is and was the "Thank YOU And Goodbye' tour and to be truthful, I really hope you just pick up the ball of your life.. And RUN WITH IT!!”
But he may be alluding that this isn’t the last fans have heard of his deadpan vocals.
The statement concluded with a cryptic line: “Listen for my voice in future lifetimes, I only grow in your shadow, you're the sun to me.”
Faithless’ final album was (the now-ironically titled) remix effort The Dance Never Ends of last year.
