Thinner. Lighter. Faster. Facetime. Those four words sum up the new iPad 2 unveiled today by Apple boss Steve Jobs.
That’s right, Steve Jobs, who had been MIA for the past two months during treatment for pancreatic cancer and a liver transplant, made the presentation for the next generation iPad at a company event in San Francisco just hours ago.
Jobs says that the new iPad has been completely redesigned. It has a faster processor. It is thinner. It now has a 10-hour battery life and it features two cameras (front and back) for video-conferencing.
Apple launched the first generation iPad in April 2010. It has generated $26.7 billion in revenue for the company in its first month on sale.
iPad 2 will be on sale in the United States on March 11 and in Australia and 26 countries on March 25.
It will retail for the same price as the current iPad.
