Josh Hisle, the former US Marine turned musician, has covered a song by his mentor Neil Young.
Hisle has recorded Neil’s ‘For The Turnstyles’ on his new album ‘Whiskey At Home’ released on February 2 on iTunes worldwide.
He tells Undercover.fm that he chose the song because it wasn’t that well known. There are very few cover versions of this Neil Young song.
Neil Young hooked up with Josh after seeing a report about him on CNN while he was stationed in Iraq. When Josh returned home he met Young as well as Crosby, Stills and Nash and appears in the CSN&Y documentary ‘Déjà vu’.
Young then signed Josh’s band Lost In Holland (also featuring Michael Ronstadt) to his record label Vapor Records. However, for the solo record ‘Whiskey At Home’, Josh wanted to release it on his own.
‘Whiskey At Home’ is available now from all iTunes stores worldwide.
