Deftones fans have taken to the streets, smashing stalls and general street fixtures after the band cancelled a show there on Tuesday night (Feb 15, 2011).
The band were planning a gig at the enormous Thunderdome Arena, which fits 25,000 people, but due to “electrical problems” they cancelled the show.
Associated Press reports that the show was due to kick off at 8pm, but at the revised starting time of 9:30pm, the show was called off.
On the band’s official website, they issued a statement saying:
“Due to local power issues that threatened the safety of the band and their fans, Deftones were forced to cancel their show last night at the Thunderdome in Bangkok, Thailand.
“Deftones would like to apologize to those that were inconvenienced and hope to return to Thailand in the near future. Refund info to follow soon.”
No mention was made of the riot.
