AMP nominees Richard In Your Mind, Pikelet and The Holidays will play the night before the big night.
To prove there’s no animosity between those nominated for the big prize for Australian music (namely the Australian Music Prize), Sydney psych freaks Richard In Your Mind, crafty indie chick Pikelet and Sydney tropical pop quartet The Holidays team up for a show.
It’ll happen at the Annandale in Sydney on Wednesday March 2, the day before the prize is announced at the exact same venue.
The other six acts nominated for $30,000 and the honour of having the best album of the year are: Cloud Control, Dan Kelly, Sally Seltmann, Gareth Liddiard, Eddy Current Suppression Ring and Tame Impala.
The Holidays have already picked up the Red Bull Award for Best Debut Release, Liddiard won the 2005 award with his band The Drones and Eddy Current Suppression Ring won the 2008 award.
