LCD Soundsystem's James Murphy wants fans to “beat the shit out of” the scalpers selling final gig tickets for thousands.
Gigwise reports that Murphy has attacked ticket scalpers taking advantage of the exclusivity of the final LCD Soundsystem gig at Madison Square Garden on April 2.
A handful of pre-sales have been released and some scalpers have already listed them on eBay, most currently listed for hundreds of dollars per ticket.
One double pass is currently listed with a Buy It Now option of $17,420.
In a series of tweets, Murphy called scalpers “parasites”, “fuckers”, “shitty people” and suggested that fans contact scalpers pretending to be buyers, “then beat the shit out of them…”
But he got inclusive in a press release about the final gig, encouraging fans to wear all-black and/or all-white, saying “If it’s a funeral, let’s have the best funeral ever!!!”
The major release of tickets goes on sale on Friday 11 February.
