Seven of the first ten Kinks albums are set for the deluxe reissue treatment.
Despite frontman Ray Davies having a crack at Kinks classics with guest stars on the recent See My Friends album, the originals will be re-released soon.
Gibson’s website reports that Kinks, Kinda Kinks, The Kink Kontroversy, Arthur (Or the Decline and Fall of the British Empire), Muswell Hillbillies, Face to Face and Something Else by The Kinks will be re-released between March and July.
The reissues will reportedly have rarities and outtakes and extensive liner notes.
Oddly enough, there’s no word on a re-release of their 1970 album Lola Versus Powerman and the Moneygoround, Part One or their classic 1968 album The Kinks Are the Village Green Preservation Society.
