Melbourne indie pop act Oh Mercy prepare their second album and book a national tour.
The band are about to release their second album Great Barrier Grief.
Tthe gentle indie poppers brought their tunes to US producer Mitchell Froom (Pearl Jam, Elvis Costello, Sheryl Crow) and whittled down 30 songs to 12 in his Santa Monica studio.
They’ve already released the singles ‘Keith St’ and ‘Stay, Please Stay’.
Paul Kelly recently named the band as a new artist that actually inspires him to write.
He said, “Listening to Great Barrier Grief is like sailing on a beautiful boat on a calm blue sea under a cloudless sky. Only there's a shadow moving under the water. Something dark and hidden ready to strip the flesh from your bones before they wash to the shore.”
Great Barrier Grief features cover art by Ken Done, and will be released on March 4 on Casadeldisco through EMI.
