Electro acts get down to business in this week’s new releases.
It’s finally worth talking about new releases after the drought of decent stuff over the summer period.
The big one is sure to be globetrotting Melbourne electro new-wavers Cut Copy, with their album Zonoscope coming out today. Their 2008 album In Ghost Colours debuted at number one.
Other electro-themed releases come from the UK: duo Chase & Status’ No More Idols, bedroom rap tinkerer The Streets’ final album Computers And Blues, and The Go! Team’s synth party rock Rolling Blackouts.
UK punk rock chargers Eighties Matchbox B-Line Disaster release Blood & Fire, US punk cover supergroup Me First And The Gimme Gimmes release Go Down Under and emo comeback act The Get Up Kids release There Are Rules.
Motley Crue bassist Nikki Sixx’s side project SIXX:AM will release This Is Gonna Hurt.
Bob Geldof will release his new solo album How To Compose Popular Songs That Will Sell and Andre Rieu pumps out his Love Letters.
Diesel has a new EP Seven Axes, Steve Kilbey has White Magic and James Blundell has Woolshed Creek.
