Omar Rodriguez-Lopez of The Mars Volta / At The Drive-in fame, will launch his new solo releases at SXSW in March.
Omar was an original member of At The Drive-in and when the band dissected into two groups, he went on to join The Mars Volta.
In 2011, Omar Rodriguez-Lopez has a number of solo projects planned, the first being the compilation album ‘Telesterion’, a 2 CD, 4 LP release featuring some new songs and other records picked personally by Omar.
This year he will also be involved in the Russian documentary about his mini-tour translated as ‘Duality of Sighs’.
SXSW 2011 is on from March 16-20 in Austin, Texas.
His SXSW performance will also feature Juan Alderete De La Pena from The Mars Volta as a member of the Omar Rodriguez-Lopez Group.
