Ben Lewis has been announced as The Phantom for the Australian production of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s new musical Love Never Dies.
Love Never Dies is the sequel to Phantom of the Opera.
Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber introduced Lewis and his co-star Anna O’Byrne via a video hook-up at The Sofitel Hotel in Melbourne. Anna will reprise the role of Christine which she understudied for in the original Australian production of The Phantom of the Opera which ended in 2009.
The Australian production of Love Never Dies will be the first production outside of London.
Love Never Dies picks up 10 years after the Phantom of the Opera. The Phantom has escaped Paris and is know living in New York’s Coney Island.

Love Never Dies will open at the Regent Theatre in Melbourne in May.
