Brisbane indie rock band Yves Klein Blue reveal that they called it quits six months ago.
In their time they made triple j’s Hottest 100 in 2008 and 2009, played the Big Day Out, SXSW, Pyramid Rock and Splendour In The Grass and supported Franz Ferdinand, The Fratellis, You Am I and The Living End.
The band sent out an email to their mailing list yesterday, stating in part: “Yves Klein Blue broke up because of creative differences some time in the second half of 2010, after 5 years together. We grew up and apart. We now live in different cities and pursue our respective vocations to our utmost capacity.
“We leave behind one full length album and two EPs in the hope that you will remember us through that body of work. We are sad there won’t be anymore with all you guys. Thank you for singing along.”
The four-piece released 2008’s Yves Klein Blue Draw Attention To Themselves EP and their 2009 debut album Ragged & Ecstatic (which hit number 42 on the ARIA Charts) on Dew Process records.
