After losing their high profile court battle to continue to use the name The Doors, founding members Ray Manzerek and Robby Krieger have gone back on the road as 'Riders On The Storm'.
The name comes from one of The Doors best known hits.The Cult's Ian Astbury, who sang lead with the band as The Doors of the 21st Century and D21C was back on vocals with Riders On The Storm.
Riders On The Storm had a soft debut with a gig in Hollywood on November 8th and started touring the UK and Europe on December 29th.
They wrapped up a European tour in Spain on January 14th.
On January 7th, 2007, The Doors clocked up the 40th anniversary of the release of their self titled debut album. The album featured the classics 'Light My Fire', 'The End' and 'Break On Through'.
To mark the anniversary, Warner Music has released a 6 CD, 6DVD boxed set featuring the 6 classic Doors albums in both stereo remixes and 5.1 Surround Sound versions.
