The Jimmy Buffett Auckland concert for tomorrow night (January 29, 2011) has been officially cancelled following the singers accident in Sydney on Wednesday evening when he fell off stage of lost consciousness.
Buffett was knocked up for up to 10 minutes when he fell 2 metres after misjudging the edge of the stage at the end of his concert at Sydney’s Hordern Pavilion.
He was rushed to St. Vincent’s Hospital and stayed overnight and was released yesterday morning.
Buffett was due to appear at the Auckland Viaduct on Te Wero Island tomorrow. “The show has been cancelled to allow himself time to recover from his injuries,” a statement explained. “Jimmy would like to thank all of his fans for their support, and wants them all to know he will return.”
During the Sydney show, Buffett told the audience that he would be back with his Coral Reefer Band for a national tour in 2012.
