Jimmy Buffett was rushed to hospital in Sydney last night after falling off stage at the end of his concert at the Hordern Pavilion.
The singer went to shake hands with fans in the front row but misjudged the end of the stage and tumbled down 2 metres. He was knocked unconscious for eight minutes. Buffett was then taken to nearby St Vincent’s Hospital.
As the dazed crowd watched and waited to find out what happened promoter Michael came on and said “We have had an unfortunate incident but the shows over so if you could move along that would be very cool. Thank you. I’m sure he’ll be fine”
A statement at his official website read As you probably already know, Jimmy had an accident while performing in Sydney last night and was taken to the hospital. The doctors say he is doing well and will be released tomorrow. More info as we get it, and thank you for all of your well-wishes!
The show was the third and last of the three Jimmy Buffett shows in Sydney. Buffett is not performing anywhere else in Australia. His next scheduled concert is January 29 in Auckland, New Zealand.
