The Black Keys have been forced to cancel their upcoming Australian tour, including the Big Day Out and all side shows.
A statement released by the band reads: “The Black Keys are sorry to announce the cancellation of the New Zealand and Australian tour including all appearances at the Big Day Out touring festival as well as a portion of the European tour in March. An arduous year of touring and promotion has drained the band and necessitated time off.
“Dan and Patrick wish to thank all of you who have shown such incredible support since the release of ‘Brothers’ and have helped make the album a success.”
Replacing the band in Australia will be Paul Dempsey, who will be returning to the country from his New York home, while Kora will take the band’s place at the Auckland festival.
If you had tickets to one of the sideshows listed below, take it back to the point of purchase for a refund and keep your fingers crossed that this tour gets rescheduled sometime soon.
