Red Hot Chili Peppers' single 'Snow (Hey Oh)' sees them set the record for most weeks spent at number one since the modern rock charts were created.
The band has enjoyed a total of 77 weeks in the number one spot (that's around a year and a half) since their inception in 1983.Thanks to chart hits like 'Give It Away', 'Scar Tissue' (which hold's the record for most weeks at #1 with 16 weeks), 'Californication', 'My Friends' and the two earlier singles from their latest album 'Stadium Arcadium', 'Dani California' and 'Tell Me Baby'.
Their 9th album has also been one of their biggest. It is the first time they have released a double album.
They hit the big time with 1991's 'Blood Sugar Sex Majik'.
The modern rock charts were created in 1958, which means Red Hot Chili Peppers have beaten The Rolling Stones, The Beatles, Credence, The Beach Boys and Elvis Presley (although Elvis did have pre-1958 hits).
