Anthony Kiedes has revealed the working title for the new Red Hot Chili Peppers album and it is a mouthful.
The title of the Red Hot Chili Peppers' new album is, at least for now, Dr Johnny Skinz's Disproportionately Rambunctious Polar Express Machine-head. According to Anthony Kiedis, who fronts the band, Dr Johnny... is the working title and is based on one of their friends' experiences after he had taken the drug acid.
Anthony explained: "He was reminiscing about one of his legendary acid trips, and told us that he had been playing a sold-out show to the planets and moons, and his number-one hit was, well, that title.
"We found it so funny that we told him for as long as the album was under the radar, that that would be our nickname for it."
And although Anthony admits that the name might be changed when the album is released, he is confident that the follow up to 2006's Stadium Arcadium will show a whole new side to band, after bassist Flea has been learning more about the practical side of writing music.
He explained: "Before, some of our jams were a bit hit-and-miss. On this record, a decent number of songs were actually thought out and planned in a way we had never done before.
"That is, with Flea's new knowledge of music theory, we explored the writing process with a bit more precision."
