Recovering Beastie Boy Adam Yauch denied a BBC report that he’s completely cancer-free.
Mike D said that MCA had been given the all clear following treatment for a tumour in his salivary gland.
They interpreted it as cancer-free, and Yauch had to send out a statement clarifying his current condition.
He wrote: “While I'm grateful for all the positive energy people are sending my way, reports of my being totally cancer free are exaggerated. I'm continuing treatment, staying optimistic and hoping to be cancer free in the near future.”
Regardless, the Beastie Boys are working on their two new Hot Sauce Committee albums (oddly enough Part One has been delayed so Part Two will come out first later this year).
They’re also finishing up their all-star longform follow-up video to the classic Fight for Your Right To Party, which will debut at Sundance Film Festival.
