Underground hip-hop icon Mos Def has had to cancel one Australian date and reschedule another.
The Soundscape festival in Hobart on January 8 has both good and bad news.
On the website a statement read, “Due to unforeseen circumstances and commitments that have arisen at the eleventh hour, Mos Def is unable to make it to Australia in time for his first two Australian dates”.
So Mos Def won’t be appearing, but the good news is they’ve replaced him with his Black Star cohort Talib Kweli.
And they’re also working on getting Mos Def to do a special Hobart show at the end of his run
As for the other date, he was booked to play Sydney’s Enmore on January 9, which has now been bumped to the end of his tour, on January 23.
His other Australian dates remain unaffected, playing HQ in Adelaide on January 11, the Tivoli in Brisbane on January 13, the Palace in Melbourne on January 14, Metro City in Perth on January 15, and Point Nepean’s Hot BBQ on January 22.
