John Butler's annual John Butler Seed is on again in 2007 for the third year running.
Each year Butler helps to fund upcoming artists and aspiring industry folk to find their feet and help them help themselves.The motto for the grant is the age-old proverb "give a man a fish and he'll eat for a day, teach a man to fish and he'll eat forever."
The categories for the JB Seed 2007 are:
Speak: Indigenous Hip Hop Competition
Social Activism through the arts program - Grants of up to $5,000
Professional and skills development program - Grand of up to $3,000
The JB Seed Initiative: Management Workshop - 20 opportunities available.
The management workshop has been successful in the past, where 20 applicants gather in Katoomba, NSW for three days hearing from industry types and being able to ask questions of usually unreachable types.
