In this week’s chart wrap, Pink’s Greatest Hits is still the biggest album in the nation.
Yes, Pink continued to beat out all comers, new and old, for the fourth week on a mostly static ARIA Weighted Albums Chart.
The top twenty was merely rearranged from last week’s, with Susan Boyle, Bon Jovi, Ronan Keating, Taylor Swift, James Blunt, Black Eyed Peas and all the usual suspects shuffling around.
The highest debut for this week was all the way down at 31 – Daft Punk’s soundtrack to TRON: Legacy.
Deadmau5’s 4x4=12 hit 56, T.I.’s No Mercy at 69, and Tim McGraw’s Number One Hits popped in at 76.
But, such is the December charts, dominated by Best Ofs, holiday specials, and a minimal amount of new releases.
The big news this week is that digital downloads couldn’t match physical sales overall.
The biggest discrepancy was with two electro-heavy artists – Daft Punk and Deadmau5 – the only acts to sell more copies digitally than physically.
Yet Ronan Keating’s Duets got in at number six with a measly four digital downloads.
Tim McGraw, The Eagles, Jersey Boys soundtrack, and Triple J’s sixth Like A Version all charted with absolutely no digital copies sold.
