Doco PUNK:Attitude - featuring Blondie, The Clash, the Ramones, Black Flag, Dead Kennedys and more - is set to be rereleased on DVD.
The film, made by UK punk rock identity Don Letts, is a comprehensive walk through the birth and building success of British and American punk, told by those who were there.
It was first released in selected cinemas and film festivals in 2005, but has subsequently gone out of print.
Now, distributor Shout! Factory, have planned a new double-DVD set with stacks of special features, for release in the US on January 11.
One can only imagine what got left on the cutting room floor, as Letts managed to cram in interviews with New York Dolls’ David Johansen, Pretenders’ Chrissie Hynde, Sonic Youth’s Thurston Moore, Black Flag’s Henry Rollins, The Damned’s Captain Sensible, filmmaker Jim Jarmusch, The Clash’s Mick Jones, Dead Kennedys’ Jello Biafra, and Bad Brains’ Darryl Jenifer.
There is also promise of more footage of the Stooges, Ramones, Sex Pistols and the Clash, who all feature heavily in the movie.
