On May 22nd " Dawn of The Dead" an in depth look at the Grateful Dead and their role in shaping psychedelia will be unleashed.
"Dawn of The Dead" traces the movements, events and sounds of the heady days of the the mid 60's when traditional Amrican folk, blues, rock r eoll and country merged with psychedelic drugs to create a close knit community that radicalised youth culture. The film explores what it was that, for a while, turned San Francisco into a 1960s Shangri-La with the Grateful Dead right in the eye of the storm.
Dawn of the Dead also includes the rarest archival footage of the Grateful Dead in existence, live and studio footage, vintage interviews, location shoots, news reports plus the music that soundtracked the entire movement, which all together make for an incredibly detailed overview of the social upheaval on America's West Coast which ultimately changed the world forever. Here is a peak.
