Former Smiths guitarist Johnny Marr has forbade British PM David Cameron from liking his band.
Marr is unhappy about how the conservative British Prime Minister David Cameron repeatedly spouts his love for the band.
Marr tweeted: “David Cameron, stop saying that you like The Smiths, no you don't. I forbid you to like it.”
Prefix reports that this isn’t the first time a musician has had a snipe at Cameron for proclaiming his love for the classic British miserablists.
Blur’s drummer David Rowntree called Cameron a “Smiths tourist”.
And when Cameron professed his love for The Jam early last year on the BBC, frontman Paul Weller responded with, “Is he thick? He probably thinks ‘Eton Rifles’ is a song about him and his mates at school”.
