Wanda Jackson's new album, The Party Ain't Over, is due from Third Man and Nonesuch Records on January 25 but you can get a taste of the new music, produced by Jack White, with the first single, Thunder on the Mountain/Dust on the Bible. The tracks will be available on iTunes starting on December 7.
Jackson was given the song Thunder on the Mountain by the songwriter himself, Bob Dylan. Featured on the track (and the album) are Jack White. Jack Lawrence (The Dead Weather/The Greenhornes/The Raconteurs), Carl Broemel (My Morning Jacket), Patrick Keeler (The Greenhornes, Raconteurs), Ashley Monroe, Jackson Smith and Karen Elson, to name just a few.
Along with the digital downloads of the track, 100 copies have been pressed in tri-color wax and are available from Guestroom Records in Oklahoma (Norman and Oklahoma City). Standard pressings of the 7" 45 version can be purchased from the Third Man Records website.
