Where The Wild Things Are director guides Arcade Fire out of The Suburbs.
Arcade Fire’s visuals for their third album The Suburbs has been pretty adventurous, from the mindboggling interactive Google Chrome video for ‘We Used To Wait’ and their live concert filmed by acclaimed director Terry Gilliam.
They’ve gone slightly more conservative with the new video for the title track to their breakthrough album, but they’ve still chosen noted oddball Spike Jonze.
Jonze is responsible for legendary clips like Weezer’s ‘Buddy Holly’, Beastie Boys’ ‘Sabotage’, Bjork’s ‘It’s Oh So Quiet’, and Fatboy Slim’s ‘Weapon Of Choice’ and ‘Praise You’.
He graduated to films like Being John Malkovich, Adaptation and Where The Wild Things Are, but never stopped making clips.
It’s an curious clip, a slice of suburban life that turns really ugly.
Check it out below, if you can stomach a little violence.
