In this week’s chart wrap, Kings Of Leon continue their reign at the top, beating out triplej’s new Like A Version.
Their Come Around Sundown album sold 12,591 copies on the Weighted ARIA Album Chart, way ahead of triplej’s sixth Like A Version cover compilation number two debut with 5531 sales.
A couple of veterans slipped into the top twenty: Rod Stewart’s fifth Great American Songbook Fly Me To The Moon debuted at four and Billy Thorpe posthumous opus Tangier came in at 14.
Other debuts this week include Hillsong Live’s Yahweh at 31, Sugarland’s The Incredible Machine at 47, Hannah Montana Forever at 66, and Barbra Streisand’s Ultimate Collection at 68.
Tours seem responsible for some big advances up the album chart this week.
Gurrumul crashed back into the charts at 19, up from 217. Katherine Jenkins’ Believe rocketed from 420 to 65. And Celtic Woman’s Songs From The Heart shot up from 371 to 69.
There weren’t many massive drops this week, although You Am I’s self-titled album is clinging on to a place in the top 100 at 99, down from 43 last week.
Next week all eyes will be on Taylor Swift’s new album Speak Now, which was released in Australia last Friday and has already sold over a million copies in its first week in the States.
