One of Australia's most bizarre exports, Spod, will head to Austin for the very first time.
His eclectic career has fused rock, hip hop and electro into a bizarre so-bad-its-good mishmash of songs like 'Secks Party 4 Eva' and 'Taste The Radness'.In Australia he supported Duran Duran, performing to a perplexed audience who didn't know how to react. He has also performed at some of the country's top festivals.
While announcing the news, Spod posted online "SPRAY THE JOOSE! Unless Jesus himself comes to earth and exchanges destiny with a trillion dollars & a glass of Henny Timeless, SPOD are going to Texas for SXSW to drink their tea, which is apparently completely amazing!"
"We're gonna play some shows too, which should be fun. Details are being massaged as we speak, and shall be forthcoming with much soonatude."
"There should be a bit of something happening here in January & February, in the realm of a new song being released & a little minitour for the pending USAisation, so jack the hammers my liquified soldiers!!!"
Those in Sydney can get a sneak peak of his radness on Tues 30 Jan at Spectrum with Spaniards The Pinker Tones.
