Indigenous Australian singer Archie Roach has suffered a stroke and is recovering in a hospital in Broome, Western Australia.
The 54 year old had been working in songwriting workshops in the Kimberly Region of WA when he became ill.
Roach is said to be in good spirits and is in a stable condition.
He has been one of Australia’s most successful indigenous performers with a career spanning almost twenty years. He formed the Black Arm Band with his wife, Ruby Hunter, who passed away after sufferinga heart attack in February this year.
