Sydney house duo Bag Raiders’ first album debuts at number seven in our ARIA chart wrap.
Bag Raiders’ self-titled debut was the biggest sold 1362 copies digitally and 1499 physically, by far the highest amount of downloads and a rare release where digital copies actually rivaled physical CDs.
The big digital vs physical trump of the week was the number 39 debut of Ou Est Le Swimming Pool’s The Golden Year, where 648 online sales eclipsed the 252 copies over the counter.
The rule of Linkin Park continues at the top of the ARIA Weighted Album chart for the third week in a row, but was one of the lowest-selling number ones as music sales continue to slow.
Astonishingly, Eminem’s Recovery went up two slots during the week to number two.
He, Katy Perry at four, Angus & Julia Stone at ten, and Bliss N Eso at 13 are having a pretty incredible 2010 on the charts.
Other debuts this week include Marcia Hines’ re-recording of Carole King’s Tapestry at 16, Jimmy Eat World’s Invented at 20, Hungry Kids Of Hungary’s Escapades at 23, a John Lennon greatest hits compilation at 25 and Lior’s Tumbling Into The Dawn at 26.
The biggest movers of the week were Jersey Boys soundtrack (from 282 to 40 on the back of big sales in NSW) and Lee Kernaghan’s Planet Country (from 322 to 56 on the back of a spike in Victorian sales).
