Angelina Jolie - a veritable authority on celebrity adoptions - has questioned the legality of Madonna's adoption of a one-year-old Malawian boy.
Whilst admitting that she was "horrified" against the attacks levelled at Madonna, who has been accused of using her celebrity to bypass Malawian law, Mrs Pitt admitted Madonna should have been more careful.Speaking to French magazine 'Gala', Jolie said, "Madonna knew the situation in Malawi ... In this country, there is not really a legal framework for adopting. Personally, I prefer staying on the right side of the law. I would never bring back a child from a country where adoption is illegal."
One-year-old David Banda will stay with Madonna for 18 months, after which time final approval will be given or denied by Malawian officials. The child's father, Yohane Banda, has supported the adoption.
