Tim Burgess and the Salford Lads Club Unite for Topman CTRL

For many, Salford Lads' Club is a home away from home, not just a venue but also a Mecca for the kings and queens of the North's music scene. Now, the iconic venue and the legendary Charlatans front man, Tim Burgess, have come together to take control of www.topmanctrl.com throughout October. They end their reign with a night showcasing their top bands of the moment and guest DJs at The Salford Lads' Club on October 20th. Tickets, priced at £10, for what is set to be one of the hottest dates in Manchester's music calendar go on sale on 8th October and are sure to be snapped up!

Playing Topman CTRL Live will be Factory Floor, Hatcham Social, The Heartbreaks and an exclusive acoustic set from The Charlatans band members Tim Burgess and Mark Collins. Tim Burgess and New Order's Stephen Morris also hit the decks, playing the best tracks from past and present indie icons, rounding off a line up worth writing home about. All proceeds will go towards keeping the prestigious club running for another 100 years!

Tim Burgess says: "Really pleased to have put together and be part of such an inspiring line up! It is important that Salford keeps the lads' Club running for another 100 years."

In a CTRL exclusive, acclaimed music photographer Stephen Wright - who famously captured Manchester legends The Smiths outside Salford Lads' Club in 1985 - will be back behind the lens, giving music fans the chance to recreate this iconic image.

Factory Floor is one band that makes waves wherever they go. With a sound heavily influenced by the post punk movement and 80's electronica, it's hard not to get absorbed in their dark side of pop. Having worked with Joy Divison/New Order drummer Stephen Morris, Factory Floor are set to get boots tapping at Topman CTRL Live.

Londoners Hatcham Social have gained many an influential fan over the past few years, including Tim Burgess. The Charlatans front man made his production debut on their latest album 'You Dig The Tunnel, I'll Hide The Soil', for which Faris Badwan of The Horrors provided the artwork.

Rising stars The Heartbreaks have built up a huge following since forming in 2009, with a sound that captures the drama of The Smiths and the anthemic feeling of the Manic Street Preachers, another perfect choice.

Finally, an exclusive acoustic set from The Charlatans lead singer Tim Burgess and guitarist Mark Collins closes Topman CTRL Live. Having just released their 11th studio album, 'Who We Touch', this is a band with real staying power, who constantly deliver. All in all, a faultless match for Salford Lads' Club.

Don't miss out on this exclusive night, tickets are on sale from 8th October at £10 including 3 free drinks. All proceeds go towards keeping the prestigious Salford Lads' Club running for another 100 years!

Throughout October, Salford Lads' Club takes charge of www.topmanctrl.com giving users on a tour of the Club, taking in its fascinating story and unequaled musical heritage, since it opened it's doors in 1903 to how it's evolved into the legendary venue it is today.
