Linkin Park and Katy Perry have muscled Kasey Chambers out of her fifth consecutive number one album.
Chambers’ first album hit eleven on the ARIA charts, but her next four albums all debuted at number one.
Her excellent new album Little Bird could only manage a number three debut this week on the Weighted Album Chart behind Linkin Park and Katy Perry.
There were some other impressive debuts in the top ten, driven by the oldies.
Santana’s new album Guitar Heaven: The Greatest Guitar Classics Of All Time is at number five.
Maroon 5’s Hands All Over came in at seven, and Phil Collins’ Going Back debuted at number nine.
Only two more debuts got into the top 100: Metallica’s Six Feet Downunder tour record at 17 and the soundtrack to Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam at 98.
Tim McGraw’s tour also bumped him right up in the charts: his latest album Southern Voice went from 37 to 12, and his Greatest Hits triple album went from 74 to 19.
