Formed in Sydney in 1983, the Beasts of Bourbon fast built up a reputation for being one of Australia's toughest rock 'n' roll bands.
The band's rough edges came through in their music, with their debut album 'The Axeman's Jazz' recorded in one afternoon. While the band never achieved massive commercial success, their influence has undeniably filtered through Australian pub rock for over two decades.
Although the band has performed occasionally (read: whenever they felt like it) over the past few years, they did officially reform and sign a deal with Albert's (home of AC/DC and Rose Tattoo).
They will tour the United States in 2007, including a stop at South by Southwest to show these polished kids what it's like to have a bottle of bourbon smashed across the eardrums.
