DJ Trend, best known for his work with The Streets, The Sugababes and Dizzee Rascal has been found dead in his Spanish apartment.
Trend, also known as TNT and who’s real name is Gifford Noel, was discovered by friends last Friday, September 17 on his 32nd birthday in Tenerife, Spain where he had been working at the Oasis nightclub for the last few weeks.
Rapper Dizzee Rascal paid tribute to his friend by wearing a t-shirt on ‘Must Be The Music’ on Sky TV that said “RIP DJ Trend”. On the show he said “I have got to say rest in peace DJ trend, never forgotten, drum and bass specialist, legend. I come up on this man. He’s just been one of my inspirations as a youth. Can’t forget this dude.”
“We were trying to get through to him and couldn't, it wasn't like him,” Trend’s mother told the BBC. “We thought we'd Facebook him as he's lost a couple of mobiles before. A message came up saying, 'Can any family please contact his friends'.”
