Melbourne’s long lost Punters Club saw some legendary shows throughout the 90s before it was overtaken by a trendy pizza bar.
Now the venue will make a brief reprise with the help of Angie Hart (Frente), Craig Kamber (manager, Underground Lovers) and Mary Mihelakos (Co founder of Stage Mothers). The trio have curated a series of shows to celebrate the venue in two of Melbourne’s current favourites, The Corner Hotel in Richmond and the Northcote Social Club in Northcote.
The shows will feature performances from Spiderbait, Hoss, Little Ugly Girls, Guttersnipes, Frente, The Fauves, The Hollowmen, Kirsty Stegwazi, Autohaze, The Glory Box and more, all of whom played some early shows at the venue.
All proceeds from the shows will be directed to the Dean Turner Trust, Leukemia Foundation, Light The Night and Linda Gebar Daughters Trust.
Dates are still being finalised.
