Seattle folk pop sensation Fleet Foxes have polished off their long-awaited second album.
The band were absolutely feted in 2007 and 2008 as indie heroes, but have been pretty quiet since.
Frontman Robin Pecknold had initially said he would like their follow-up album to be released in 2009 but following solo projects from bandmates, that was revised to late-2010.
Now Pecknold has posted on the bands Facebook page that the album is finally finished.
He wrote “Hey all, it's been a bit since a recording update. Well, recording is done! We are flying to New York tomorrow to mix and master the album and will have information about release date and when you'll get to hear a song or two SOON. Geologically soon but soon.”
They have previously stated on their Facebook that they were considering titling their second album Deepwater Horizon, the name of the offshore drilling platform that lead to the Gulf oil spill.
Their self-titled debut album of 2008 was a critical smash hit, topping scores of Album Of The Year lists. Here’s hoping people will still remember them a couple of years later.
