Half of the ARIA Top Ten Albums this week are debut entries.
Thankfully, the charts are getting shaken up after the seemingly never-ending domination of Katy Perry and Eminem.
Coming in at number one on the Weighted Albums Chart (incorporating both physical and digital sales) is Linkin Park’s new record A Thousand Suns.
Of course, Perry and Eminem still managed to hold onto two and three respectively, but The Script’s Science And Faith burst in at number four.
Disturbed dropped to number five, right ahead of Melbourne retro rock sensations Little Red and the debut of their second album Midnight Remember.
After Barnesy at seven, we have two more debuts in the form of Nick Cave side project Grinderman’s sequel at eight and Interpol’s moody new self-titled record at number nine.
The ongoing Bliss N Eso juggernaut rounds out the top ten.
Other debuts this week include Robert Plant’s Band Of Joy at number 19, Weezer’s Hurley at a disappointing 46, Anberlin at 53, a surprisingly low position for Julia Stone’s solo album at 59, and Underworld at 77.
