Paul McCartney is gearing up to record his parts on an unfinished John Lennon track, 'Now And Then'.
The song was abandoned while the Beatles were still together, although ten years ago the idea of finishing it was tossed up by surviving members McCartney, Ringo Starr and George Harrison. It was Harrison who decided against it and would not give it the ok to go ahead.
Harrison died in November 2001. It is not clear what Ringo's opinion is on the recording.
In 2003, McCartney re-released the last Beatles album 'Let It Be' in a "de-Spectored" version, where Phil Spector's trademark "wall of sound" production and orchestral arrangements were taken out.
