Melinda Schneider has revealed that her great friend David Campbell is the person behind her motivation to record an album of Doris Day songs and joked that he had to revert to "the threat of physical violence" to get her to do it.
"He has been getting very aggressive with me over the years," Melinda tells Andrew Tijs at Undercover. "The last thing he said to me a few months before I recorded this album is "if you don't make this album I am going to hit you over the head. So I thought to save myself bodily harm from David Campbell I better do it," she laughed.Melinda and David are great friends. He even sang with her on the album.
The album paid off for Melinda and has been a fixture in the Top 10 of the Australian Albums Chart since it was released 8 weeks ago.
'Melinda Does Doris' is Melinda's sixth studio album but her first concept record. It was produced by Chong Lim and released through Universal Music.
